The design brings Genesis back to the Magma visual language first shown at Le Mans in 2025. Both cars use a dramatic gradient that moves from deep red to vivid Magma Orange, giving the prototypes a stronger visual link to the brand’s performance sub-brand and its Korean identity.
Genesis says the color treatment is inspired by the volcanic origins of the Korean peninsula and the energy beneath the surface of South Korea. It is a deliberately expressive approach for a team entering its first season in the FIA World Endurance Championship, where the car has to work both as a racing machine and as a moving brand statement.
The two GMR-001 cars will share the same core graphic theme, but they will not be identical. The #17 car will carry the orange and black version of the design, while the #19 car will add white Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing logos, along with extra white highlights.
For Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke, the livery is not just decoration. “For the entire Genesis brand, including of course Genesis Magma Racing, design is one of the foundational pillars,” he said. He also noted that fans responded strongly to the Magma Orange concept livery shown last year, which helped bring the idea into its Le Mans form.
The timing matters. Genesis Magma Racing arrives at Le Mans in its debut WEC season, after scoring points at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in only its second championship race. The team is presenting the new livery as a mix of confidence and restraint: visually bold, but still focused on reliability and finishing its first 24-hour race.
For Genesis, the GMR-001 is more than a motorsport project. It gives the Magma performance identity a public, high-pressure stage and turns the brand’s design language into something that has to survive daylight, night running, speed, heat and the visual chaos of Le Mans.
